Goodbye, JavaScript

Why have JavaScript embedded in a web page for a simple blog? Not having it makes one less thing to maintain. I am down to one external dependency embedded in this site: Bootstrap. The site isn't backed by any database and there is no server-side processing of templates or code--just plain old HTML pre-compiled using Jekyll.

I still use JavaScript for other projects--some on the server but mostly in the browser. I go through cycles of building things up, and then simplifying by taking things away until I have what I like in the end.
